Driver

Cottage Grove Place is looking for a Driver to assist in up to 16 hour per week transporting residents. Some evenings and weekends may be included.

The Driver drives the Cottage Grove Place vehicle(s) to transport residents to and from appointments.  Accomplishes errands and related tasks as requested by administration that requires transportation.  Maintains upkeep on vehicles including maintenance, tire rotation, washing, gas and all related.  This position is supervised by the Environmental Services Director.  Resident satisfaction and meeting resident’s needs is a very important aspect of this position.

Responsibilities
  • Communicates and follows-up on all requests and needs while keeping supervisor informed in a timely manner.

  • Updates/completes all required paperwork in a timely manner.

  • Handles all resident and other requests or concerns with a sense of urgency.

  • Coordinates work and transportation with other departments’ functions so as not to interrupt resident care or normal business functions and communicates updates to appropriate management.

  • Transports residents to/from their destination in a timely manner. The Front Desk is responsible for scheduling all transports.

  • Maintains excellent public relations with residents, visitors, other departments and vendors. Follows-up on meeting all requests and needs possible in a timely manner.

  • First and foremost is a safe and courteous transportation source for our residents.

  • Attend monthly In-Service meetings.

  • Contributes to a positive, healthy and safe work environment.

Details

Required Qualifications

  • A current and valid class “C” with passenger endorsement commercial driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Demonstrate physical dexterity in moving, bending, stooping and pulling as job permits.
  • May work in awkward positions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry seventy-five (75) to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • May be subject to offensive odors and combative behavior.
  • Normal vision and hearing required.
  • Must be able to function efficiently despite distractions and interruptions.
  • Communicates orally and/or in writing with residents, coworkers, families and public.
Work Schedule

Part Time/PRN | 1st and 2nd shifts
